written, directed and choreographed by Peter Wing Healey
music arranged by

Based on characters in Charlotte Bronte's celebrated novel "Jane Eyre" Jane’s husband, Mr. Rochester, has died and her old friend St. John Rivers comes to take her away to the tropics. In her absence her estate is taken over by Livia and Chester Servermoor, ruthless Corporate Owners of Global Fad. Can Jane, now a prisoner in her own gothic mansion ever regain her power?
JANE HEIR was first done as only part one April 1988 at the Judson Memorial Church, co-produced by The Judson Church. Then the full opera was presented at The Middle Collegiate Church in May 1988. It was presented in excerpts at the Continental Atrium Series in Lower Manhattan in April 1989 and then in May 1989 a full production was presented at P.S. 122.
